Monitor All Communication
Many of you have been through a number of my classes where we talk at length on the topic of “posture.” When we consider that 60% or more of all communication is nonverbal then we begin to realize the impact that having a strong confident attitude will have on our business success. Posture is not only something we communicate verbally because we also communicate our leadership and professional attitude by way of our feelings and thought emanations. In other words, if you’re having a bad day, your prospect is soon going to pick up on it. It may not necessarily be anything that you say but instead it may be the thoughts and feelings behind what you have said that they interpret.
To increase your income, you must first increase your value. When people perceive you to have something of value they will be willing to give you money for that value. For instance, people will pay for leadership. People will pay for expertise and guidance. In this case it becomes very important for you to be aware of your body language, your attitude, and your thoughts and feelings when communicating with a potential partner/customer.
The 40% of our communication, which is verbal, is at times not nearly as influential to our prospect making a decision as that 60% of non-verbal communication that we often times forget about.
Your assignment this week is to monitor to the best of your ability WHAT you’re communicating. Pay attention to your prospects responses and make note of your state of mind in that moment. Track this communication in a daily journal and watch for patterns or clues as to why your prospect does or doesn’t enroll with you. Note any feelings you have that could be holding you back and keeping you from achieving your greatness.
You have what it takes to make it BIG!
